The 27th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2026) opened on September 9 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an and will run through September 11. At Booth 13C16 in Hall 13, Superxon showcased 1.6T, 800G and 400G optical modules for AI computing power centers; 50G PON OLT and ONU products; and high-power ELSFP external laser source modules for NPO/CPO architectures.

Live Dynamic Testing of a 1.6T Optical Module

As demand for AI computing power continues to grow, deployment of 1.6T optical modules is accelerating. Superxon exhibited a prototype of its 1.6T OSFP224 2×DR4 module at the event.

The product uses an OSFP224 IHS Closed Top design and integrates a 3nm DSP with silicon photonics technology. Superxon said it keeps power consumption below 25W. The module underwent live dynamic testing over an actual link on a commercial switch at the event, supporting subsequent customer validation and product adoption.

High-Power ELSFP External Laser Source Modules Unveiled

Next-generation optical interconnect architectures for large-scale AI computing power place greater demands on laser power consumption, thermal management and maintenance in NPO/CPO switches. Pluggable ELSFP external laser source modules can provide switches with continuous-wave optical input while supporting hot swapping, helping improve laser thermal management and on-site maintenance efficiency.

At CIOE, Superxon unveiled a range of high-power ELSFP products compliant with the OIF ELSFP 02.0 specification, including the ELSFP 2×DR4 VHP/UHP and ELSFP 2×FR4 VHP.

The ELSFP 2×DR4 provides eight channels of 1311nm continuous-wave optical output. Its VHP version delivers 20dBm of optical power per channel, while the UHP version reaches 23dBm per channel. The ELSFP 2×FR4 VHP uses a CWDM wavelength configuration of 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm and 1331nm, delivering 20dBm per channel. Superxon demonstrated the high-power output of the ELSFP 2×DR4 UHP at the event.

Targeting AI Computing Power and Broadband Access Markets

Beyond its new high-speed optical modules, Superxon also showcased its 800G OSFP112 2×DR4 optical module, which is already in volume commercial deployment, as well as carrier-grade access network products including 50G PON, XGS-PON and GPON OLTs, and a 50G PON ONU.

Superxon said it will continue focusing on two core businesses: optical modules for OLT/ONU access networks and high-speed optical modules for AI computing power centers. The company will maintain delivery capacity for mature 400G and 800G products while continuing customer validation and market introduction of its 1.6T optical modules and high-power ELSFP external laser source modules.

The company also plans to further develop a product roadmap spanning conventional pluggable optical modules and the optical components, optical engines and optical modules required by NPO/CPO switching architectures, providing high-speed optical interconnect solutions to cloud service providers and equipment manufacturers.

As demand for AI computing power continues to rise, high-speed optical modules and supporting NPO/CPO optical components are gaining new growth opportunities. Superxon said it will continue advancing the development and commercialization of high-end optical interconnect products to support next-generation AI computing power infrastructure.
