China’s AI compute supply chain expands across chips, cooling and finance

Chinese companies and institutions reported progress in AI models, medical computing, semiconductor capacity, liquid cooling and financing for compute-intensive businesses.

• ByteDance reportedly delayed the release of Doubao large model 2.2 beyond its earlier August target to strengthen coding, tool-calling and agent capabilities while continuing work on a next-generation ultra-large model.

• Ruijin Hospital and Huawei Cloud launched the 7-billion-parameter RuiPath 2.0 pathology model, which covers 19 common cancers and 205 diagnostic tasks, alongside a 2-million-parameter Edge version for deployment on ordinary hospital PCs.

• Wuhan Xinxin unveiled a 10-year plan centered on optical-sensing interconnect and 3D compute-storage, targeting a fourfold capacity increase and a semiconductor ecosystem worth more than 100 billion yuan.

• Reports said several Chinese liquid-cooling companies have orders booked through year-end as AI data-center deployments and conversions from air cooling increase demand.

• Chinese banks are introducing computing-power loan products as AI-related companies seek funding, with patents, trademarks and copyrights increasingly considered in lending decisions.

• Apple said additional investment in its Guizhou iCloud data center has reached billions of dollars beyond its initial 1-billion-dollar investment, and that the facility now runs entirely on renewable energy.

• Huazheng New Material reported first-half revenue of 2.96 billion yuan and net profit attributable to shareholders of 173 million yuan, with performance driven partly by demand for high-end copper-clad laminates linked to AI computing.

• The expansion of computing power is pushing some new-energy and power-electronics companies into the AI data-center business, according to a report cited in the items.
