Chinese AI firms expand model access, agents and chip-design tools
China's AI compute updates included new model integrations and rankings, agent features, domestic semiconductor-design and metrology tools, and planned AI-device launches.
• Moonshot AI's Kimi API now supports OpenAI's Responses API format and Anthropic's Messages API format for integration with Codex and Claude Code.
• Alibaba released Qwen3.8-Max-0902, saying the updated model reached first place in CodeArena's overall front-end coding rankings with a score of 1,691.
• Arena's week-35 rankings placed GLM-5.3-Flash in the code Top 10 for the first time, while Kimi-K3-Max remained in the overall Top 10.

• Hejian Industrial Software released UniVista 3DI, described as China's first 3D chip physical-design tool, alongside other EDA products at the 2026 IDAS Design Automation Industry Summit.
• Huiran Microelectronics unveiled a domestic 14/22nm CD-SEM critical-dimension metrology system, while Xiaomi said its Sept. 7 launch will introduce the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Pad 9 Pro Max with its Xuanjie O3 AI flagship processor.
