Rising Memory Prices Turn Into a Tailwind as Axera Builds Inventory to Lock In Advanced Process Node Capacity

Aug. 12 — Jiemian News learned from Axera’s interim results conference call that rising memory prices have become a tailwind. Company management said: “As memory accounts for a larger share of terminal BOM costs, terminal products face price-increase pressure, prompting customers to accelerate upgrades of main control chips. As a result, rising memory prices are instead driving a rapid increase in the share of high-end downstream products.” To cope with tight industry capacity, Axera increased inventory in the first half from more than 300 million yuan to more than 700 million yuan. The company said it had proactively locked in advanced process node capacity, and that the decision was based on clear order visibility from downstream customers.
